I'm the same height and currently a bit heavier ( [smilie=ext_icecream.gif] ), you don't need to shorten it and it doesn't make the bike look silly. It will lean more on the stock sidestand but I used it this way for years. Just do it, you can put it back to stock easily if you want a back to back comparison.

those look like there is little difference, I have seen guys get a little carried away with the new ride height and get that swingarm at a very different angle, want to ride something that is just terrible to ride get the big angle on the swinger, it may look cool just don't ride it

The R6 shock does sharpen up the steering a little but its nothing bad at all, no big deal.

For the stand, get a 1098 ducati stand, its longer and what people say is the cure :)

The really nice ones with no damage are $135-$140 plus shipping. I may try fitting a RG250 MK 3 stand I have here. It's 11 inches, like the 1098 stand.

I have the stock stand on mine now and it's ok. It helps if you grind some material from the stop to allow a more positive lock. The bike is much more stable now. Before modifying the stop it wanted to roll off the stand.

might think about the shock now

i was having pipe scrape issues with the 120/80 17" tyre on a 2.5" rim

now ive got a 3.5" rim and im going 140/60 -17"

so its going to be even worse . so with the longer shock and smaller tyre . it might be where it is now

John, I just this week bought one sans damage for US$60something... with free US shipping. Not on ebay, from a ducati breaker type company who had pics on their site. It was the cheapest one they listed, but looked good. So long as it turns up and looks as promised I will be very happy with that. most of the others I saw around that price were badly damaged or about $100 when undamaged. Sure there were some that were 125+ on ebay, but I ignored those, outa my budget... they are out there, but you have to look harder than normal to save a few bucks with ducati stuff it seems.

Hi
Have put hyperpro progressive springs in front forks will now find a good rear shock for the bike
If I buy a nitrone, can I adjust the height?
Are there other brands in this price range?

Regards, Ron
