New rubber

#1 Post by mkane » Tue May 06, 2014 11:36 am

Replaced the humongous 180/120 combination in this bike to see if it alleviates the bus like feeling it has going down the road. New rubber is Bridgestone Bt003rs in 1 160/110 combo. After I finish up cycling 50miles today I'm going for a spin. Heck, if nothing else that skinny rear looks like it belongs there.

Twisties, that's all we have around here but still have to ride with lot's of restraint. Line of sight is lousy, huge trees & unforgiving guardrails. The tires really helped turn in and I know there more capable than myself. Temp today was quite a bit cooler than it has been and the bike seemed a bit lean a 1/2 throttle. Bought new manifolds and TDR reeds. When I bought the tires I also purchased a new helmet and some boots. track days are just around the corner.

Mr Kane, do you know if that AirTech bodywork will fit on the '86-'90 Canadian RZs?

Airtech's website doesn't state which year's rz/rd there bodywork fits. I do know there's a 4 wk lead time.

Very nice. Thank you. How about a front shot and a front 3/4 view?
The only issue I think would be the tail piece if anything. I'll give them a shout. Thanks again. Your bike looks great. I hope they can give me a clear windscreen. That's on my wish list.

yeah, those are pretty sticky tires. i used to use the R version for track days. don't lean too much if you get caught in the rain...

Your bike looks fantastic. I'm going to jump all over that glass, and order a set. That's the look I want and the riding position too. Thanks for the additional pics!!!

It's quite comfortable for the type of riding I do.
