Wheel Bearing replacement

#1 Post by Redline Junkie » Sat May 10, 2014 5:19 pm

I have a set of 86+ rims that need new bearings and seals. The rims didn't have bearings when I got them, so can anyone tell me the bearing number for the front and rear wheel. I need them all and I think I will go to my local bearing shop and buy quality bearings if I had the numbers. Also can the seals be found at a bearing shop or dealer only. Any input would be good.

Thanks Rob

I got mine from All Balls, if you use their website, there is a reference chart which covers most models and also cross combinations for head stock bearings. It does not cover the 86 model but they may be able to help you if you email them??

My bike is a 84 model ans when I changed the bearings there was also a spacer that goes between the bearings on front wheel and rear. You will want to be sure you have those.

Emphasis added, you MUST have the spacer that fits between the bearing that the axle goes through. They all clamp together. Without it, there is NO bearing support. I only say this because you said the wheels came without bearings.

Got it, I seen the spacer in the basket but no bearings. I just had the wheels powder coated and getting ready to replace the bearings and seals. Thanks for the help.
