Fork leg diameters

Fork leg diameters
I bought a fork brace online and though it said it fit a LC, it doesn't fit my 1st gen RZ fork legs (too big), are the LC legs or the later RZ legs bigger in diameter. Can someone measure their LC legs or their later RZ legs for me, I want to know if the brace is labeled wrong or for a totally different bike. Thanks.

Re: Fork leg diameters
Without seeing the brace it sounds like you have the right one, but might be installing it wrong. It's meant to go around the dust seals on the 1st gen RZ. If you try to put it on the fork legs it is far too big.
Re: Fork leg diameters
Thanks, The center distance is right and it has the groove to fit where the dust cap would seat. It's only 2mm larger than the leg though, I find it hard to believe you'd get it over the caps then crush them down. It's a Daytona if that makes any difference.

From memory, though. Needs double checking
Dultonas had 34mm, Lc's 32mm and Valvies featured 35mm Fork tubes

I`m confused. Usual mounting should be:solo 2 wrote:Thanks, The center distance is right and it has the groove to fit where the dust cap would seat. Remove dustcaps from forks.
Install brace onto the spots that the dustcaps were.
Then install dustcaps onto the top of the brace.
When you are talking about the "leg" are you talking about the fork lower? I cant see clamping to that as there would be no room for a fender.

Re: Fork leg diameters
Some brands like the ATK I have were "universal" & came with several .5mm shim strips to wrap around the forkleg under the clamp.
