cleaning crusty brake fluid

#1 Post by Juicebox » Sat Jul 12, 2014 3:01 am

What is the best way to clean crusted on brake fluid from the grooves that hold the piston seals. Im afraid i'll mar up the grooves if I use a small screwdriver. Is there a better way?

Try a shop rag with fresh fluid.

^^^^ try to get the brass ones as there are a lot on ebay/amazon that look brass but are only plated steel which i think is too harsh .

Thanks again everyone. This forum is indispensable for someone like me, and I appreciate you all. I got the brass brush as suggested...and everything looks great. Now off to the powder coaters.
