Hello Guys
I have replaced the damper, special washer plus nuts and bolts. Please see the pics of the installation on the RH footrest. I have pressed the bush in to allow the special washer to sit almost flush with the footrest holder. Have I got this right ??
Thanks

Press it in deeper from the back. The smaller flange is all that should be sticking out back there. The larger bushing OD(outside diameter) should be flush with the bracket.

Re: RD350 F2 Footrest Damper (for exhaust)
That's how I set it up originally and it looks right - but when the larger bush is flush with the bracket, the dished special washer is then standing 2mm proud of the bracket and provides no support to the damper whatsoever. Am confused ! Is the washer the correct way round or have I pushed the bushing in the wrong way ??

Correct. The outside washer on mine is flat, not recessed.

Re: RD350 F2 Footrest Damper (for exhaust)
I guess that I turn the washer round so it's flat on the outside (Doh !). The rubber backing is thus redundant but the damper is supported - I note this part fits other Yams maybe they have a use for the backing.
Many Thanks

No. Your picture is correct that the dish side is out. The damper is designed to allow the pipes to move a lot & not transmit vibration through to the foot pegs. The chrome washer should not be touching the aluminium bracket.
