Passitive green hardware

#1 Post by OldTZracer » Fri Nov 07, 2014 2:16 am

I just dropped $100 at my Yamaha dealer for a handful of Phillips screws. Anybody have a source for oem-style passitive green plated hardware? This is a restoration, otherwise I'd just use Allen screws...

Have you found any paint that is close to the plating colour? I don't want to paint it black unless I have to.

I had my local automotive paint dealer match the color from a brake pedal in a spray can .

There are places in the UK that do the Olive Green plating. Grab a copy of classic bike mechanics at your local Barnes and Noble, they advertise in there.
Box it up, send it off and sit back and wait a couple of weeks. It shouldn't be too expensive.

Caswell sells a kit for passive green that is supposed to work on zinc plated metal, never seen the results. May be an option.
