Swingarm bolt removal

Anyone got any tips on removing the Swingarm bolt on a rd250lc. Have managed to push it out about 10mm but despite my best efforts with a pretty large hammer it has locked solid.

Any ideas?

Ive had this before with a DT200R... In the end I had to cut it :/ Thin saw blade in one hand and an electric drill with a socket in it to spin the pin in the other. Sawsall wouldt fit :(

wow Jon, were was it stuck ?
had it seized in the swingarm bearings?
what did you find once it was removed.
i ask because i am about to try a swingarm upgrade.

the pin and the collar had rusted together, it was solid. no amount of hitting with a big hammer would shift it. But, Ive done lots of bikes and this was the only one to ever be like that and remember that dirt bikes lead harder lives usually.

Had this problem on my RZ500 rebuild a few months ago. The bolt and collar are rusted together, I sprayed some penetrant (PB Blaster) in and let it soak for a day or so. Then fire up a torch and heat it up and spray some more penetrant. Then I used a brass hammer and drove it out without damaging the swing arm bolt.

Ditto with my '77 RM125 back in '79. I had purchased the bike, and needed to change out the swing arm bearings to pass tech inspection. I ended up setting the bike on it's side, penetrating oil on the bolt, left it over night and beat it out the next day with a sledge. I just had to file the top two threads on the swing arm axle, as they mushroomed a bit. I have never had as much trouble with a bolt/shaft/axle since. It was the worst seizure of any kind I have ever experienced. I don't like using heat, if I can help it.

I tried heat and many different penetrating oils on the DT, the problem with off road machinery is that it gets wet, then some idiot cleans it with a pressure washer and also the same idiot doesnt re grease anything, years down the like someone like us tries to fix it :/

Nothing would move the DTs pin, I ever tried an SDS drill on the pin... nothing...
