Wheel color suggestions

I picked up a set of red RZ wheels to replace the rims that were both dinged from a crash by the former owner of my yellow RZ. The dinged wheels were painted black, which looks alright.

I'm thinking of painting the new set in a darker shade of gold OR a shade of dark gray. Any thoughts or photos you can share?

I think either a darker gold or gray would look really good.

the wheels that came on the project bike I bought were powder coated gold. I don't hate them and would have rocked them if I was keeping them but since I am going hybrid they will be sold. Here are a picture to give you an idea of what gold might look like. and a link to my project thread that has a picture of the bike with the wheels on but not with any fairings, sorry best I can do for ya

I'm trying to talk myself out of buying a set of these. You only live once, eh. I would have to fib to the wife on the cost of these. After changing the tire on the track bike today I thought man, this thing has got to struggle to turn this wheel over.

The marvic is a great wheel, but just look at that orange peel paint job! (look at 9 oclock!) I would expect a bit better than that for my $ :/

Jon, that surface is consistent all the way around on the inner spoke area. Check out 3:00. Look closely.

I agree its cool, just not that well finished... to me details make the difference, if they cant finish something well, why trust they did the main work properly etc... (Im not suggesting marvic are shit wheels, just saying)

fair enough if its trying to be like something from the 80s, finshing has changed over the years, its the main reason why the RD350R was panned in the uk press actually as by 1992 people expected more from fit and finish than they did in 1983 etc.

Those Marvics are sand cast.....that is why its not glass smooth like the rim edge.
My Dymags and EPM's are the same way.
