Speaking of Forks .. rubber boots?

#1 Post by Bare » Mon Apr 27, 2015 2:02 pm

Considering fitting rubber boots to my RZ forks.
I like the look of Old Skool bellows and the protection aspect probably isn't a bad idea either
Any suggestions as to where to buy such and perhaps even which ones would fit decently ?

Try and find something OEM would be my advice, there are a bunch of aftermarket ones out there but i reckon they would die pretty quickly :/

You mean fork gaiters? It's great way to trap dust and moisture and rot your fork tubes. Save yourself the trouble and don't do it.

The Yamaha TTR230 has rubber boots on the forks. Those might be close to the right size.

Thanx for the inputs..
No.. those rubbers fitted to that pore RZ seem as a wee bit oversized.
Unlikely that (my) boots would be fitted and entirely forgotten, for the neglect required to mess up the fork tubes.
Pesky bike gets wayyy too much fiddly attention for that.

It's a good way to prevent offspring project bikes from popping up, but they gotta fit tight. I can see all sorts of RZ's springing up in the same garage as that forlorn Z with the loose blue gaitors...

What about just front facing sliders, like the usd's use.
Mark just made a set for his LC out of pvc pipe.
