Do a damn search brah! This is answered all over the place. Then again, you probably don't give a sh*t being new to the forum.

You should give Avons a look, both for DOT and track. OEM Bridgestones are nla for the front.

That's totally a trial and error thing. Many people have different opinions, and experiences with the same product. Often one brand shines. Good luck with it.

Here is a link to a British magazine test on all the current good tires that would work on our bikes.

https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9780" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Avon Road Rider AM26 came out on top with the BT45 and Michelin Pilot Activ both in a close second.

I have BT45's on my RZ and like them alot. But if I had read this comparison first I would have gone with the Avon AM26 Road Riders.

I did just put Avon's on my new to me Suzi GT550 smoker and like them very much. But this is a much lesser bike in terms of handling and performance.

Its kind of sad that no one has reviewed tyres for our size/weight bikes since 2008 really, youd think with all the single pot 4T 250s that there would be a good article in that for a mag :/

Amusingly I used to live near Avon tyres and the general consensus amongst the tyre guys and the lads locally was that they were horrible. I even had em on a company mercedes just before i gave it back to the lease company as they were lethal, but that was 15 years ago... seems they have moved on as I know Pete Gailey likes his 26s and others have said they liked em too... wonder if i will be able to get over myself and buy em when the times comes... LOL! :D

Jon. Just give a try on your next bike that needs tyres.

Damn, you guys are helpful :) I have spent too much time over at the stupid 2-stroke forum apparently. Sorry to the OP. Forgot this is safe ground to ask questions (and I personally like the BT045 Bridgestones).

I have mixed views on my BT45's. Ive had them on an FZ600 and they worked Very well... no complaints actually.
Wearing evenly/well too.
But on My 350 LC they wear Very oddly. Grip 'OK' but don't generate near as much confidence as I expected.
The rear tire centre flats spots in annoyingly few miles... it's the only part of these tires that sees pavement
IMO it's due in part to the foolishly narrow LC Rear rim which forces an already oddly crossectioned tire into a U shape.
As result it's Real tough to get the contact patch extending much off the centre bit.
Slightly wider RZ rims have a lesser issue with BT45's.
Caveat Emptor Kids.

Unless you're doing race speeds and lean angles, BT 45's always worked for me. Avon 22/23's definitely do stick better, but are non DOT

I think I've covered this before ?
120/80 vb18 Avon super venom AM 18 on the rear and a 100/90 18 Michelin macadam 50E on the front.
Both are very predictable and wear nicely.
Probably nla for the Michelin but I believe the Avon still is.
The Michelin performs very well under hard braking with no wandering and a hard two finger squeeze will lift the rear without locking. I'll miss it when it's gone.
