sidestand switch question

#1 Post by speedjunkie_69 » Fri May 29, 2015 12:02 am

I can't for the life of me figure (or remember) out what I am missing on my sidestand to press on the plunger switch that is on my Canadian 4LO. I found a close up photo of a of a stand that has a tab but mine didn't come with a tab pressing on the switch. Image
Is there something I am missing?. Sorry I don't have a pic of my stand but its like the above pic with out the tab welded..
cheers
Norm

There are 2 types of side stands used on bikes with a side stand switch. One has that neat little tab welded on as in your photo. The other has a big tab, almost bracket size, welded on. Not all regions got the side stand switch. Perhaps your side stand is from a market without the switch and, thus, had no need for the tab.

Still confused because I've owned the bike from new and have the switch. I never replaced the side stand but somehow it has no tab welded on. Wondering if there was a tab hanging down from the sidestand bolt that wasn't welded? I might have a second stand hiding somewhere in a box....

That's an odd problem especially since you're the original owner.
Does anyone know where to get a side stand switch boot?

Try here. Click on bellows and search around. You'll need measurements to match it up.
