#1 Post by hutcha107 » Fri May 29, 2015 12:09 am

Does anyone know what other Yamaha models and year share the 1986-1990 RZ350 breaks?

Cheers.

A quick search on "rz brakes" gets you over 900 returns. A more specific search may get what you want. There's a lot of buried info here if you look.

Failing that, a little more info would help:

- replacing damaged OEM calipers, MC, rotors, components

- upgrading to newer or multi piston caliper or brake lines or MC

The best and easiest to find brake upgrade for the F2 RZ is a set of Triumph calipers. They bolt straight on to the RZ fork legs and offer true 4 piston performance.

I agree, I picked up these Triumph Calipers with SS lines and master cylinder for $70 plus shipping. I had the Triumph machined off and I will paint them soon. They even have 80% pads on them, can't beat it, not with rebuilding my F1 breaks.

I ended up spending a bit more as I had custom kevlar lines made and I also replaced the pads. Still a worthwhile improvement to have good and reliable brakes.

I left the "Triumph" logo on the calipers. It actually looks kinda decent.

FZ and RZ500 used the same casing as the 350 but with bigger pistons . The master pictured above is a Brembo under licence , they can be found on a lot of bikes from the late 80's and 90's , Yam , Suzuki and Kawa.
