Anyone ever consider swapping a set of FZ750 forks onto an RZ?
Reason I ask is that many of the OEM FZ parts seem very similar to those on the RZ and I bet the steering stem is nearly identical as Yamaha tended to use common parts from one model to the next. And a plug & play front end swap would be really nice.
The FZ forks are 39mm and came with a more sophisticated valving insert than the RZ. Apparently it is fairly easy to swap a 17" wheel into an FZ front end as well. Even if you chose to stick with the beefy 16" front wheel, it appears to accept RZ disks, which are better than the FZ's vented disks. The FZ forks, like the later model RZ forks also appear to accept modern Triumph 4-piston brake calipers.
Just a thought.

Re: FZ750 Forks on RZ?
the fz forks are similar set up to the rz500
most of want to get rid of that rubbish . that would be the last thing i would want to stick on my 350
you are better off getting a fzr 400/600 setup
you get a better set of forks 17" wheel floating discs , more caliper choice

FZ forks don't have anti-dive. Otherwise they look similar internally to the RZ forks but with the addition of the extra valving insert.

Or, early R6/R6S forks. Very modern and of course Blue Spots and a 17" wheel bolt right on. 43mm is nice too.
Cheers!

Re: FZ750 Forks on RZ?
FZ600 are 36mm , the T is very different , stem is almost flat with the tubes and they weight a lot more than the RZ set up .
