Can anyone confirm what configuration of fork springs the 81 RZ would have come with? Progressive wound or straight wound? I have a set of forks with straight wound springs, however the Haynes manual talks about installing the springs with the tight wound section at the top.
The straight wound springs I have are 506mm free length which is what the manual states they should be.

Hey Peter,
You dealing with a LC or RZ? All the springs for the RZ I have seen are straight. I have a pile of them but cannot confirm if any are 31K.

John,
I do not think this is the case. I have multiple sets of springs from the 1UA and they are not progressively wound.
