Got a KR1S wheel and it is dead straight which I was pleased about , especially a front but after giving it a rub down, I'm still left with one dink which is about 1.5mm wide and 1.5mm deep
Doesn't sound a lot but was going to have black wheels with a polished rim
Do you think it would be worth getting a small weld done or will it feck the wheel up ?
Or Plan B , just have it powder coated which I'm not a fan of

Re: Small Wheel Dink
you meant dinG right?
Depends on how bad you want the wheel to look perfect IMO. I would leave that ding, doesn't seem like much.

Re: Small Wheel Dink
Just means I won't be able to do the polished rim like I wanted too
Was just watching some youtube footage where the car owners were getting rid of the curb damage by removing the tyre , attaching it back to the car and spinning the wheel with the engine running and using a chisel to dress the damage up EEEK !!!
We call it a dink in the UK too

Re: Small Wheel Dink
That small indent should be able to welded up without any affect on the wheel.
But it will not polish up like the rest of the rim as it is softer.

Re: Small Wheel Dink
Thats a funny cultural snafu. Here in Canada Dink is fighting words. But when I went British School in Hong Kong, Dink was used in the class readers. Sorry no technical input. Just a chuckle.

Dink down here is when you give another person a lift on your bicycle
A Ding is another word for a dent in a surfboard or a car or in this case a wheel

Re: Small Wheel Dink
Not all the UK calls it a dink, i think its like other words and is as per a local area (Headcoates your Black Country / Brum right? in which case dink would sound right accent wise, less so elsewhere perhaps), ie bread roll... batch, bap, roll etc etc
