RZ/RD 350 & Misc. 2-Stroke Tech BBS

Dear all,

To complete my website, i'm looking for some VIN plate/stickers picture of RD/RZ350 from Canada and RZ350 from USA. From what I have seen, it's always white stickers in those countries.

BTW what is the name of those stickers here ?

Could you send me picture of your plates ? you can erase the last 2-3 digits of the serial number if you feel it a secret information but I don't see the risk (here in France at least).

Yes, Canadian plates are white stickers. My RD350LC from '81 only had the numbers stamped in the frame, and engine. Was not a 17 digit code back then. The white sticker had Canadian acceptance noted, but no vin. My vin for that bike was 0001111.

The Canadian ones also had a round (about 20mm diameter) Transport Canada approval sticker, maybe the same one Rory is referring to, as well as a white sticker that looked similar to the metal plates above (at least on my '85).

In Canada do the VINs have the *? Xavier, we never had them in Aus...

No * on vin or frame , in fact it's the same vin sticker as the RD400 .

must have just been the Euros that used the * then. must have been some ruling about vins for security etc

Yes Jon, no stars * before and after the VIN on chassis and engine in Canada.

So did Yamaha consider that In Europe, people will restamp their engine/frame but in Australia and Canada there are more honest so no stars are needed ?

Does someone could take a picture of the Transport Canada approval sticker ?

Xavier , 4Y3 - 000001 provient directement de mon imagination .

In Canada we don't restamp frame , we just buy another cheap bike for parts .

Transport Canada sticker on the headstock near the vin for the LC and on the right frame gusset behind the radiator on all RZ .

nice work Xavier. one thing there is a typo, the Aussie RZ 1XH is not from 89, its 88 - the compliance has the year in it.

If i come across any more Aussie ones I'll send you some pics.
