Fork Valves Nomenclature?

#1 Post by evan_calgary » Tue Jul 03, 2018 2:20 am

What would one call the balance valves that can be found on the pressurized forks of the early RZs? Screw on pieces with a balance tube? Drawing a blank on naming. Schrader valves?

Im not sure what you mean by 'balance' but the air valves in the forks of the early RZs are schrader types. Are you looking for a balance pipe or making one? Ive been thinking of making one as I dont see (m)any ready made ones.

I am looking at set of add-on valves with round bodies and a balance tube between the two. Just not too sure what it would be called. They screw onto the stock valves at the top of the forks.

You can make your own with easily sourced parts.

I'm not asking about making them....as per the title i'm just wondering what they would be called. If Yamaha's race team offered these as a performance product (not that they would) what would hey call them?

It's an air bridge, between forks.

Ah fuck this place there's nothing here that can't be found elsewhere.
