Rear Sets

#1 Post by Bald Anthony » Thu Aug 23, 2018 2:45 pm

Hello,

has anyone had plates made to fit the 1985 RZ U.S frame to accommodate a different set of resets? I want to use the 04-06 R1 rear sets (or possibly another) and thought about having an alum plate made to fit the frame to accommodate the rear sets. I have an after market set now, but I don't like how close the shift and brake pedal are to the pegs. Has anyone thought about making a few sets for sale?

Any assistance would be nice!

Thanks,
BA

Hey BA, the downside to other rearsets is that it leaves you to come up with another means to hang the rear of the exhausts. I took a lot of excess metal off a set of late model RZ rearsets and was happy with the outcome, see here about half way down; viewtopic.php?f=5&t=15536&start=15" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There were also the ones made by T10 a few years ago but I believe they have been discontinued. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10348&hilit=rearset ... &start=375" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I also have a set of these still in the box and you have reminded me that I should try them.

I had a set of 08+ Honda CBR600rr rearsets mounted to an Rz. Actually worked out pretty well. 1 single plate, I used 1/8” flat bar, went to both mounts and the rearsets mounted to the bottom hole and a new drilled hole in the flat bar.
Exhausts we’re mounted with the same flat bar attached to the back side of the foot peg.
