My money is it'll be fine. They're tough as nails.

Decisions.....
I love the GSXR wheels and front end on the GS...
But wire wheels have a cool nostalgic look (plus the wheels I have are the same dimension as the GSXR wheels)
Either way the new gas tank stays....

And the CBX has it's new pistons finally where they belong....

Nice. I had a GS1000. Bought it new in 1978. I traded my GT750 on it. A lot of my mates had Kwaka 750's at the time, they sold them to get GS1000's as well once they found out what a great bike they were.

I bought my first GS1000 back in 82, with only a little over a 1000 miles on it.
The guy I bought it from and a friend bought 2 together. The friend crashed his and died, and the guy I got mine from parked his right after and let it sit till he sold it to me. I had a Yamaha XS400 as my first bike....I could hit 90MPH at 9000 RPM....I thought I was flying.
First ride home on the GS, I hit about 120....with more RPM's to go....and have never owned a bike smaller than 1000 since (except two strokes.... :smt003 )

The CBX getting closer to being useful again....
Getting the carbs cleaned and set up for the new pistons is next on the list.

Did you get the cylinder installed on the CBX by yourself? Quite a job. Almost as much fun as rebuilding the head.

Put all 6 in completely by myself.....a bit of a job, which I was not looking forward to.
I completely went through the head myself too...

Honda ring compressors were over $35 each, and book called for 4 of them.
So I went to Lowes plumbing section, and bought all 6 of these stainless clamps for $5.79 :smt003

Another Yamaha finds a place in the garage.... This time it's for my girlfriend though.
I can use her as my excuse for buying it... Although these were my first real dreambikes back in 78...just before I was old enough to drive.

Kinda the polar opposite of the CBX.....

Hopefully I'll get to find out when the snow and salt are gone, and the temps passes 50 degrees....a few more months...
Then I'll have to hand it over to the better half...
