1986 Walter Wolf RG250

Post by LC Cnd »

Looking at one of these but not sure of the fair value in Cnd dollars. 12195KM on the odometer. There is a crack on the fairing around the right front signal - repairable. Anyone else own one? Thx

Rarest of the rare! As silverstrom has mentioned parts for rg250 mk3 are hard to come by... that's a JDM mk4.
WW paint and 17 inch wheels I believe are the difference between this and the mk3?

I've a couple of rg250 mk3s. One's been converted to a yammagamma.
Very light and nimble. The mk3 16 inch front and 18 inch rear wheel makes the steering a bit nervous.
This one shouldn't suffer from that. A steering dampner helps mine in long fast sweepers.

Looks to be in pretty decent shape.

Thanks for your insights gents. Wants $4500 for it and stored in an office (?). Sounds like a bargoon. My brother found it actually - may be his 1st dive (or anti dive according to the front forks) into the two stroke world. I was unaware Walter Wolf was a Canadian who supported F1 racing and now has a Interpol warrant for his arrest. Not sure how Wolf was connected to motorcycle world but this bike is a bit of Canadiana perhaps. Perfer the red wheels. Thought it odd to have rear foot pegs when the seat does not extend. I'll be interested in riding it.

The rear top part of the seat is a single seat cowl that replaces the passenger seat.

Here's a pic with the passenger seat.

Seller stated he was selling it because he purchased his dream NSR400, last year, and the RG was a bit boring. Did not even ride the WW last year hence it was place in an ad. He allowed a parking lot test drive, then he announced the bike was no longer for sale. Guess it did not sound boring. Ach, so close. He's not an owner of an RZ or RD, oddly.

That is unfortunate. Sounds like a fair price given the shape. Only one I have seen for sale was 1500 but it was a mess.

I sold my rg250 gamma HB factory bike a few years ago, and I haven't forgiven myself since. I'm serious. I'm building a Rz 350 now to find some kind of redemption in which I know I will probably get none... Or very little. So do as the man says. Don't dick around. Just buy it. Lol. Besides, you're in Canada. You can find part easier than I could in the states. So, buy it. If you don't like it, let me know. I'll buy it from you. I would put an "lol" after that... But I'm %100 serious.

Busy with the RD and funds are going to that presently. There maybe an opportunity, come Spring, to revisit this. Don't known until then. What made you decide to your Gamma and
this vid 4 u Jloodward as it is for sale (not mine). Good luck with the purchase - hope its yours.
