The chrome finish amused me... It looks amazing in the pictures but I bet it would be annoying in the sunlight. In the 70s Omega made a watch with a chrome dial, its part of the Speedsonic range, but know as the 'Lobster' these days due to its special articulated bracelet that looks like a lobster tail. The dial is the stuff of legend, most who have owned one are usually 'so-so' about it, but the rest still want one. The problem was partly the sunlight, but also the fact every time you checked the time you saw your own face looking back at you lol. I have one, I fitted a grey and blue dial to it to get rid of the chrome LOL!

...for those amused by the idea, this is it:

People really are ignorant regarding electric vehicles, your everyday average Toyota Prius" the car everyone makes fun of " will bolt away from a standing start and across a intersection on par with many 300+ or more h.p cars.
A friend has the new Tesla S which he recived great rebates and tax incentives to buy, the car is BRUTAL FAST!!, Nothing beats it, Astons, 911 Turbos, Z1r Vettes, Ferraris..you name it the Tesla has them beat.
If you've ever been in a AWD Turbo 911 and experienced a (rare & tricky) perfect launch. .without causing inevitable drive train or clutch damage..you know how fast that car is..now imagine doing a perfect launch anytime you feel like it, so easy your grandmother could do it. Say what one wants regarding roadrace and manually shifting dlush boxes of the past...these are becoming the ultimate street cars. Electric..is the performance future. Id love a electric bike...I used to say "electric vehicles have no soul" but after driving one...I'm a beleiver. How gratifying it must be to at will and effortlessly annialate, utterly destroy some greasy douchebag in a BMW M3 or boy racer in a STI or EVO, priceless!

Ive said it before but I actually would quite like an electric bike. Ive no problem polluting with my 2 and 4Ts, but I just think that where I live it would be really useful for the city, theyre just silly expensive for anything decent sadly. Perhaps my KTMaha could become one, tho sadly the technology for the batteries and the motor would kill that project, Im not thinking a homegrown old 12v car battery and a washing machine motor would be what id want lol.

Ive never tried a tesla, the charging infrastructure is pretty non existent here, but have a friend with a Leaf which he tells me accelerates way faster than people expect. The Prius probably did more to kill the publics view of electric vehicles than anything else. The Honda Insight cant have helped either, it always was a very strange thing inside and out.

Im looking at buying a V8 for my next car at the moment... perhaps I shouldnt even be thinking about, let alone talking about, electricity... :D

EDITED: Oh, and the Speedsonic (Im trying to keep my posts relevant to eachother lol) was one of the early electronic watches, and no its not quartz, its what we call a 'hummer'... it runs with battery and keeps time using a tuning fork. seriously. :)

I've driven a friends Tesla S a few times. Will scare the shit out of you @ 60mph when going to WOT. Because of the flat torque no matter what speed you're going it will accelerate about as fast as it does from a stand still. Can't imagine the same sort of thing on a bike. Must feel like a 6L V8 lies under there. I could feel the weight of the batteries when pushing it in the corners (not P85D) but it's an amazing car.

Hey Jon, a beer or 3 sounds like a plan.

There's a Kawasaki H2 entered at Speed Week this year. P-PB so Production Blown class.

Interested to see/hear what the H2 is like on the salt... 'blinding' if its a chrome one under the Aussie sun... Actually, thinking about it the ADR wouldnt allow a chromed vehicle would it? In WA maybe LOL

I used to work for Tesla here in Norway. In fact i was the first Service manager for them here. There are A LOT of ev`s in Norway as the government has given the tax reliefs over other cars and alot of other advantages making them cheap to purchase and own. And it is true as others here say, they are scary fast in acceleration and that is where it matters. I used to drive Roadsters every day and i raced anything i could at a stop-light. I cant even say how many Porsche`s, Maserati`s and just about every other sports car i killed in the streets of Oslo.

One time i raced a Yamaha FZ1 Fazer. Not that is the fastest thing you can find, but it was what came along at that day..The lights went green, i slammed the gas pedal and off we went. I could not see him in my sidesight, nor in the mirror, so he was not in front of me or behind me. The next red light came up fast and we had to slow down. When we waited for the next green none of us wanted to do it again so we just gave a thumbs up in mutual respect and slowly drove off.... That was a great moment that i will remember for a long time.. Here is a couple pic`s of the workshop as it looked when i ran it:
