Had this bike since new in 2001 so probably the longest bike I have owned but have neglected it the last few years :smt010

Thinking it may need a café racer makeover , whatever that is :smt033

Or maybe just sell it ?

They are something of an oddity really and are a love/hate type of bike , a lot have had their motors robbed out of them for various projects

Just got a new battery for it and will swop the fluids and ride it a bit and see how I feel :smt011

When I dynoed it made 90bhp and 80 pounds torque, but never felt that torquey really :smt024

Fancy a fairing like this but I have a shagged wrist so no clip ons and the Buell vibrates that much, it eventually disintergrates things

Well had a sleep on it and did look for loads of Buell café racer pics and really there wasn't anything to improve the looks really :smt016

So as I have already fitted an S1 lightning seat unit then maybe just make it look like the original S1 ????

That had upside down forks though...

Out of the café racers though, this one in my opinion looked the best !

It's actually a Japanese company and it looks like the tank, seat and fairing is all handmade from alloy sheet :smt004

The early Buells had plastic tanks and so don't suffer from rusting :smt005 they start to bubble under the paint with all that ethanol shit leeching out the plastic tank :smt010

Holt Works here in the UK make an alloy tank for these but at £800 !!!

Hmm, that speaks to me.

Getting a single clock mount made so dumping the tacho for that minimal look !

Thing only revs to 6500rpm (HAS A REV LIMITER TOO) so not as essential as on an LC :smt033

You could chuck the tank and use a moto carerra style dirt tracker seat on the back. Side aluminum covers would look good and dirt bike bars would keep you more upright. Probably something you could do with that thing. I always liked the buell but that tank is not looking good. It would then just end up looking like a dirt track Harley though.

Yes I used to like the tank but I think as years have gone by, it has not aged into a classic style has it ?
