Just another Guzzi

Post by ghezzi »

So I had an RS485 project that I started in 2009, it stalled in 2011.
I needed a bike to ride in the meantime - wasted 2 years - so I bought this, my 6th Guzzi

I'd rather ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow.

Over the past 5 years I've fixed a few little problems, made a few minor adjustments, nearly satisfied now.

Ducati front end not installed in this photo, rear guard has since fallen off, :smt010

.........Was .................. Now
Rake: 28* ................... 24.6* (Longer shock, shorter forks & smaller wheel)
Trail: 92mm ................ 103mm (29 mm less offset with Ducati triples)
Wheelbase: 1560 .......... 1510 (steeper rake & triples)
Weight: 237kg ............ 200kg wet

Rear is raised 60mm, front has dropped 31.5mm
I'd rather ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow.

Built it before the Be eM was invented, and long before the hipster craze went global with all those fugly unrideable caf'e racer pieces of shit that are everywhere.
Exhaust has since been raised to just below seat height.

The BST's were for an RS250, 3.75 x 17 front and 5.00 x 17 rear. Made 'em fit and saved 4.5kg per wheel.
Skinnier 160/70 rear tyre helps turn in, I've got just enough power to pull the skin off a rice pudding.
I'd rather ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow.
