If you bought Apple shares, at the same time this was crated, you could afford to buy this bike lol.

I bet it sells for that. Where are you going to find another one still in the crate with no miles. One of I think. Some suzi collector will score it for the big bucks.

Sadly, it will probably collect dust to maintain its value. One more reason to own a RD/RZ - rare but reasonably priced to maintain and enjoy the flight of 'em. Best part ownership I'm discouvering. Can't imagine how hard it is to find parts for an RG500 - beautiful ride as it is.

Not the most expensive one out there. Supposed preproduction prototype was going for $65+K.
I'll build something faster for a fraction of the price, thanks.

Awesome collectible of the greatest 500cc 2 stroke of the era. As a collector bike, its definatly worth the money, or if your middle aged and have a fat savings account a perfect way to relive ones youth. Really, its no diffrent than most typical old guys buying a classic car, Corvette or BMW. Its actually FAR cheaper!
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A 100% original. One could spend 30k modifying one...but its still not the same as a low number/mileage original machine. Thats what always brings down the hammer $$$.
I like modified machines, I just could not afford such a quality time machine, but if I could I would and Id probably ruin the value by riding it...lol
Hes wrong about a Calif title. It was techniclly just as illegal then as it is now, but there are loopholes and just luck one DMV might have caught it one wouldnt. A friend just bought. RZ500 & RG500 last year, called a mobile DMV title lady and he had title& plates in 3 weeks. We were both surprised. Bith had existing AZ Titles thst seller said was easy to get. I know thw title lady knew absolutley nothing about bikes, so possibly that helped?

In process of selling off few zero mile RD500 and Gamma
Sounds like he has more. Apple shares would have been a better investment and taken up less space.

I don't permanently modify anything unless I know I'm keeping it as long as I'm alive. My Cobra Mustang is taken as far as it can be taken with bolt ons (except for a blower) so my next mod will be a fully built engine (with about 120 more hp..) and a 6-speed conversion.
Man, its so much cheaper building bikes.
Waiting until I wear out my CR500 before I port it. I'm in for a loooong wait..

The RD500 looks pretty mint too. No for sale sign (yet).
