Re: Stunt Bike
I have spent quite some time looking up and buying different types of hose clamps for my bikes.
Smoker said "atraumatic hose clamps". WTF
Before I went and looked that up on Google, I thought to myself, I'll bet that's something he got out of the emergency room.
Sure enough.
Way to go smoker.
I hope there is not some dude walking around now who's missing his hose clamps.

I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to mechanics/engineering and bike building. I'm just plodding along and trying to learn. Hopefully, with some luck and help, the bikes will get done.
I often struggle to find the correct terminology - so, I go for what I know.
Glad you guys can understand medi-mechanical lingo!
Re: Stunt Bike
Ridden this bike over 2,000 times, so far.
Re: Stunt Bike
Had a bad Memorial Day and crashed the bike. Have a head injury and don't remember how or why I crashed.
Time to start fixing the bike. Can't see the damage well in a full bike photo.
Ordered new lever blades for clutch and brake. The brake side is wasted.
Ordered a pair of decent used titanium YZ footpegs. Will need to have them polished.
Ordered new Renthal Handlebars. Same style and color. Notice the end of the bar is grinded at a few different angles.

Re: Stunt Bike
Ordered a new aluminum 1/4 turn throttle tube. Previous one is grinded. (See above pic)
Also ordered a new set of engine sliders.

Re: Stunt Bike
Since I'm not sure what caused the crash, I'm looking to buy a GPR Steering Stabilizer.
Trying to find the best price on a gold one. Hard to find a kit for the WR250X.

Re: Stunt Bike
Don't know what to do about a new helmet.
My Joe Rocket Speedmaster Carbon is priced way lower than other carbon helmets. Maybe that's why my head took so much damage. Don't know, but don't really trust this helmet any more.
I need a light helmet because my neck is fucked up, but the light helmets are expensive as shit.
Looking at the NEXX XT1 Carbon Zero.
Really like the Simpson M30 Bandit Carbon, but looks like the visor isn't quick change. I have a minimum of 10 visor changes per week. I especially like the flat finish, but that finish doesn't look good for long.
Still looking.

Re: Stunt Bike
Well that's why today's helmets have an internal dark visor like on the first pic you posted.
That leaves clear on the outside and up/down switchable dark inside. Leaves the necessary changes to about zero per week.

Not putting a new visor every time.two-stroke-brit wrote:cant you just clean them ?Smoker wrote:Dark shield for day, clear for night x 5 days per week.two-stroke-brit wrote:10 visor changes a week.... are you riding behind a gritting truck?
Just changing between dark tinted and clear every morning and evening.
Re: Stunt Bike
Haven't had a helmet with the drop down tinted shield.MK wrote:Well that's why today's helmets have an internal dark visor like on the first pic you posted.

Looks cool, but not sure that it would clear my glasses. Also, riding with a full dark shield keeps the temperature down inside the helmet, and keeps the sun off my face. Sometimes I wear polarized sunglasses plus the dark shield.
I almost went with the NEXX XT1 which has a drop down shield. Maybe next time.
Re: Stunt Bike
Sorry for using the term "visor" incorrectly.
Of course, I'm talking about a clear or tinted SHIELD.
I know that the visor is the part that sticks out over your forehead.
Just lazy, and not using my brain well.
