The anodising also fades in the sun much quicker than paint. Wheels are much better off being lighter, unsprung weight etc, but either will be fine really.

Any pics Smoker? Id love to see what youve bought.

The shit just never ends.

Bought some expensive CNC valve stems for the new wheels.

Didn't notice until I was taking pics.

I asked them to check the order before shipping.

Two different caps on the stems. Fuck me again!! :smt013

Okay. The vendor did me right and sent another set of valve stems. (They don't have loose valve stem caps.) I wanted blue caps, so that's what they sent. As a bonus, they came with upgraded rubber seals.

Took a while because I ordered a 150/70-17 rear tire, instead of a 150/60-17.

The rear tire was WAY taller than the front 120/60-17, so I sent them both back. Not a huge selection of matching tires in these sizes. Went with Conti Sport Attack 2 tires.

Quick pic as I was unloading the new wheels. Freshly mounted and balanced.

The photo doesn't do the wheels justice. In the sun, the paint is spectacular.

Blue metal flake with clear topcoat.

Not what I originally wanted, but I 'm pretty happy, now.

I'll get better pics soon.

Edit: didn't use any of the above valve stems I was working on. Used flat black stems I found in the garage.

Got the rear wheel mounted with the new rotor and sprocket.

Installed stainless bolts and blue anodized washers. No aluminum washers on the sprocket. Need to get rid of the red anodized parts near the wheels.

Ran out of time today. Hopefully will get the front on tomorrow.

Got the new front wheel on.

Very happy with the new wheels.

Late at night, so not many bikes left. My bike is usually the only non-cruiser in the lot. :smt066

Forgot I had installed an offset countershaft sprocket for the gold wheels.

Switched back to the OEM sprocket as soon as I remembered. Took forever to clean out all the grease in the front sprocket area.

Deal is almost done for a new silencer and related parts from Japan.

In the mean time, I popped a couple of rivets into the damaged silencer to stop the leak.

Also ordered some new bash bars.

There's a company in Japan that modified this Ohlins shock to fit the WR250X.

Sent them an email to see if it's still possible to get one.
