Newer Gauges

#1 Post by savethe2strokes » Sat Feb 13, 2016 6:24 pm

I am looking to get rid of my stock gauges and move to a more updated/lights gauge set. What is everyone running? I see the R1 gauges are popular, but they require modifications for the speedo.

I just bought an RZ350 that came with the same gauges. the p/o had taken them off and was in the process of putting original gauges back. I would like to put on a different rz I'm working on. I'm missing the bag on the far right and far left. I am also misasing the instructions. Any tips on install would be helpful.
thanks

The po told me when he bought the bike the KOSO gauges were on the bike. I know he was not lying because the magnets for the speedo are in the rotor bolts. The KOSO wiring might be on the bike still hooked up because the original rz gauges are not hooked up, just sitting there. I haven't really had time to inspect the bike that much yet.

instructions you can get from Koso USA customer service if you email them, they are quite helpful. I expect the wiring is on the bike, you need to check...

What Jon said. Check the bike. It will be instantly apparent if the KOSO wiring is on the bike. Speed sensor wire and connector is unique as are some others like temp sensor, etc. RZ harness would have to be modified, connectors removed and such.

And KOSO customer service was very helpful. I emailed and RZ500 schematic to Pierre (in Canada?) and spoke to him a couple of times. He was very helpful to identify the correct tach pick up.

savethe2stokes, yes it's lighter. I have no idea how much.
