No head/tail or instrument lights

#1 Post by wolfman » Mon Jul 04, 2016 5:39 pm

Ok, this gremlin is kicking my ass !
Headlight comes on with the brake light switch which indicates a ground fault.
So the brown wire, (Br), must be shorted
Everything else works fine even the park light!
Main switch checks out.
WTF ?

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I'm not seeing how the a blown headlight fuse can cause that based on that wiring diagram. If the fuse is blown, the headlight should get no current in any circumstance. Only where you see a dot at a crossover is the wiring connected. Just to make sure, I pulled the headlight fuse on my US 1984 RZ350 and hit the brakes and the headlight remained off. Is your wiring stock?

Yes factory harness using led instrument and brake/tail lite.
It seemed weird to me as well looking @ the diagram.
I couldn't see the element blown in the fuse and didn't test it I just replaced it.

Try pulling that new fuse and hitting tapping the brakes.

True, I'm so freaking tired of wrenching, I just want to ride the damn thing sometimes !
I'm sure it will act the same though.
