hand controls, what works, what doesn't?

#1 Post by Disco » Thu Aug 11, 2016 12:26 pm

I'm looking for advice on right-hand controls (kill switch, brake reservoir, throttle tube). What fits and looks original-ish? Most of what I'm finding are for more modern bikes with electric start button. Use one and just dead end the switch wire or... Go for an atv/off road type kill switch set up without electric start?

I've read the suggestions on here to go with a 1/2" brake reservior vs the stock 5/8" to improve braking. Thoughts on a particular brand or place to buy?

Also, if you've got a favorite pair of handgrips, let me know what they are and what's great about them.

great site, thanks guys!

I've got a radial MC from an R6 on mine with Triumph 955 calipers and it works great. As far as grips I usually go with the spongiest ones ProGrip make, but they don't last long.

why not find some better used OEM ones? Most yammys from the period use similar switch blocks if thats what youre looking for, but most of us have spares and many will sell them.
