Hello, I`m having trouble with my stator and I was wanting some sources for a new one or possibly getting old one rebuilt. I did stumble upon this website http://www.regulatorrectifier.com/catal ... 350-Stator" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; that claims to have a stator that fits 83 to 90 rz`s. Is this possible? and has anyone bought one from this site. your help would be very much appreciated. Thank you Dave

I have always found decent used ones and have several spares kicking around for future use. Beware when buying used or aftermarket that there are variations of stator/rotor/CDI and not all play well together and some require minor mods to work. Searching on here will help clarify things.

What I see:
Why Am I Seeing This?
A 403 Forbidden error means that you do not have permission to view the requested file or resource. While sometimes the website owner does this intentionally, other times it is due to misconfigured permissions or an improper .htaccess file.
Anyway. No matter what the manufacturer promises, the rotor, source coils and stock CDI build a tuned system that basically work together if you have the right combination.
There's a big chance that the new stator changes that to the worse side, i.e the stock CDI does spark or does not rev too high.
That's why I usually recommend a DC-CDI coz they're not affected by this rotor/stator/CDI combo issue. They just need a stable 12V supply and the 12V coils do work in all aftermarket stators in combination with all rotors.
If your old stator just has faulty source coils and the 12V part still works, you can use that one with a DC CDI instead of wasting money on a new stator.

Any one had any results, good or bad, with this manufacturer
I have tow Rz's and 83 and an 85 that I'm sure will require a new one in the not too distant future

As I wrote: My experience with ANY aftermarket stators is that the stock CDI often doesn't like them.
So if you have trouble and hope to finally cure it with a new aftermarket stator, you may get disappointed.
The good news: Try the DC CDI first, as it eliminates any old CDI trouble plus source coil issues at once AND adds some 5 hp for 200-250 bucks.
Only requirement: Pick up (white/red white/green, some 130 -200 Ohm) and the 12V charging coils (three white cables, 0.6 Ohm each pair) must work.
So if you have trouble and hope to finally cure it with a new aftermarket stator, you may get disappointed.
The good news: Try the DC CDI first, as it eliminates any old CDI trouble plus source coil issues at once AND adds some 5 hp for 200-250 bucks.

Stator & CDI two different beasts LOL
so you are referring to a zeel or ignitech then? and then you can use the aftermarket stator? yes/no

Yes, exactly.
With a Zeeltronic take care of ordering a PDCI and not a PCDI. The Ignitechs are all DC type.
And I need to add that if your stock stator has a working 12V supply, you don't even need a new stator.
Measure white against white and if each of the 3 pairs have 0.6 Ohm it's ok.
