Ignitech DC-CDI-P2

#1 Post by TZR400 » Thu Apr 26, 2018 12:33 pm

Perhaps a reintroduction is in order .... My name is Jim and I own two Yamaha twins - TZR250 and TDR250. Some of you likely know me as TZR400 from other lists. I am finishing the TDR project and am struggling a bit with settings for my DC-CDI-P2. I am hoping that one of the list members has an Ignitech on their RZ or even TZR/TDR and would be willing to share their ".ign" file so that I can verify (most specifically) the settings for the "Bike", "Inputs" and "Servo" tabs. Post privately as you wish. TIA http://tzrchronicles.blogspot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There's different possible settings.
What exactly do you need?
What's the rotor / pickup combo on the TZR/TDR?
Should be 1 pickup and two lobes of equal length on the rotor outside.

Do you want to run 2 separate coils or the stock dual coil ?
Do you need the wasted spark removed (machining of the rotor necessary) ?

What tach signal are you using? Is there a separate purple cable or not?

Do you have any extras like a TPS, shift light, shift sensor, .... ?
Bye

* What's the rotor / pickup combo on the TZR/TDR?
- 2 Lobes (180 degs apart) and 1 pickup
* Do you want to run 2 separate coils or the stock dual coil ?
- 1 dual lead coil (stock)
* Do you need the wasted spark removed (machining of the rotor necessary) ?
- No. I am happy to run with one coil.
* What tach signal are you using? Is there a separate purple cable or not?
- There is no purple wire. The tach is connected by the orange wire (both the CDI and loom)
* Do you have any extras like a TPS, shift light, shift sensor, .... ?
- I am using none of those features at this time.

That's the easiest of all cases and the RZ350 demo file from Ignitech will do the job.
Though you'll need to measure / verify the base angle.
Just PM or post your email and I'll send the file.
