Zeeltronic Wiring

Has anyone done a Zeeltronic install in a way that left the original connectors intact so the bike can easily be reverted to the original configuration? I’m considering the PCDI-10VT.

Thanks.

yes, just use OEM connectors.

You could buy all the necessary original style connectors and make a plug and play setup where you split the original connector and plug in both sides of your 'splice in' harness. Easy enough to figure out how to wire it with the stock and Zeel wiring diagrams. You might need to split a couple of circuits.
The connectors from the alternator and ignition pickup are the only ones I've had trouble locating.

Connectors available from;
http://www.cycleterminal.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (on holiday until Aug 18) or
https://www.corsa-technic.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks very much for the info.

Have you found the round pin connectors that will mate with the CDI connectors? I, literally have been on the Internet all day searching for them until I’m cross eyed. I found the flat pin ones from the PV controller and the servo on the Zeeltronic site. My bike is a 1990 1UA Canadian.

Cut some off an old loom if you get stuck. Plenty of cheap knackered looms at breakers yards / ebay etc

The cheapest one on ebay is $125. I was hoping not to spend that much for connectors. I’ll wait for the first Website to come back on line to see what they have.

The four wire connector (one blue, 3 white) from the charging coils is not in stock at the only place I found it https://kojaycat.co.uk/epages/950000457 ... YAM-RD-YPC" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The two round pin connector for the White/Green, White/Red wires from the ignition pickup to CDI for my '85 is impossible to find, looks like this, but smaller; https://kojaycat.co.uk/epages/950000457 ... -LYPC-CONN" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It might be possible to order terminals from them and reuse the connector housing.
The other wires on the '85 stator harness use bullet connectors but the 1UA uses a 3 way connector that looks similar to this; https://kojaycat.co.uk/epages/950000457 ... W-Wht-Conn" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and for the pickup wires uses something this; https://kojaycat.co.uk/epages/950000457 ... W-OLD-CONN" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which is like the oil pump level sensor and I believe called Hitachi style, also available from the vendors listed previously.

First hand you don't want to go back to stock once you set up any programmable unit, that's for sure.

But hey why bother finding that unobtanium stock connectors to be able to just plug&play that crappy old unit?
Ever thought about buying some shiny new connectors of ANY type, just cut off that stinky stock ones from the original CDI and use the same NEW connectors on both CDI's?
You could even just splice the affect cables and have one end going to your beloved corroded stock connector.

Unfortunately sometimes it's a bit more work as for example the Ignitech requires one side of the pick-up on signal ground. That requires a single plug in the affected cable to swap it back from ground to stock white/green.

I used that kind of wiring for example to be able to swap between the Ignitech P2 and P2 race on the same bike (spliced the cables and crimped the two different connectors to each end). Or for my foulstroke VTR1000 I did an adapter cable between the stock harness and either a CDI P2 or a TCI P4 (swapping single cables required)
