I am trying to install my lower cowl and find that it touches the pipes at the lower rear edge and almost touches directly below the radiator. If I space it away, I can get it maybe 3mm clearance.
My question is - how much clearance is required to prevent melting of the plastic? How much clearance do the stock pipes have? My lower cowl is cherry with no melting at all so I'd like to keep it that way.
Thank you
Lower cowl pipe clearance required?

Re: Lower cowl pipe clearance required?
If you want it to be original it has to melt the plastic.
Re: Lower cowl pipe clearance required?
my rt header pipe just touches and I do have a very slight melt. my left pipe has about 3mm and no melt.

Thanks guys
I will try to space it out and add something between the pipes and cowl. I don't think this cowl was ever used. No melting, no rock chips. Just a scratch from being tossed around in a box.
