Raask rearsets

#1 Post by Juicebox » Wed Jul 27, 2016 4:35 pm

Is anyone using Raask rearsets on an American RZ? If so, is there any modification needed? Do you use a stock rear master cylinder? Do you like them? Thanks for any help.

US RZs are the same as everyone elses in the footpeg area, no?

I know of one person that will tell you that his Raasks broke and one who says that the early ones looks like a 5yr old made them, one of those statements was made by me... I have 2 bikes with Raasks and I like em, the old ones are proper old skool, the later ones are more like Tarozzi brackets but with older pegs. See my builds for more info on them if you want to see em?

This is as far as I got with a set of Raask rear sets.

They came off and now reside in a box on a shelf where they will stay for the next X years. But with Jon W’s endorsement how could you go wrong?

I did not like them. Clearly I did not use them and cannot comment on the master cylinder.

I do like the Tarozzi rearsets on my thrasher bike. And should you ever fall down (not recommended) every little piece of these are available from fast from the past. It looks like a new set from them is $310 which isn't too bad. http://www.fastfromthepast.com/rearsets/yamaha

Also maybe more of these are available???

Yikes, the Rasks look like they were made with a hand file.

I tried a set of Raasks on my race bike years ago. I hated them. Not only are they poorly made they moved my legs up too high and too far back.

I bought another set a few years ago for my XV920R project. They were so bad I didn't bother to install them as they were worse that I remembered from 25 years ago.
Cheers!

They looked better in the picture I saw, but after seeing kpke's picture, I will definitely pass. I think i'm kinda with Questo......I don't like anything that's out there right now. I'm on the fence about the other set kpke showed. I believe they were made by someone here on the forum....no? Anyway, thanks everyone for saving me the pain of buying Raasks.

Flash photos are not kind to the cast raasks is all... same units. if you were bothered you could sand and file back the plate castings before fitting, the levers are actually really nice and have a very 'period' look.

Im not sure, but it seems there might be a " new" updated design available, Looks like plates are possibly diffrent ? I cannot get too much detail on my phone, but someone here can compare them to what they have and respond as to if these are a new design. Heres the link. http://www.raask.se/e-fotpin.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
