Gas tanks

Re: Gas tanks
Ebay is awash with poor quality tanks, avoid them.
Norbo had an LC tank made, no reports yet about how good they are but it looks the part.

Re: Gas tanks
Disproportionate number of these are washed out in the bottom spaces by the fuel taps or at the high spot behind the fuel filler. A couple visible pinholes usually means the entire base needs to be replaced in that area. Have unfortunately run into this a couple times myself.
Re: Gas tanks
Kevlar fuel cells are the go, light as a feather and then have them painted or carbon wrapped.

Re: Gas tanks

Re: Gas tanks
They are pricey, but I don't see why they wouldn't be street legal. They even have tanks for the Kawasaki H1 & H2! And right at the top of the page was the one for the RSV250/RGV250- the frame I want to use.

Re: Gas tanks
Airtech has a fiberglass RZ tank, but there are pros & cons especially if you ever run ethenol fuel. Some folks worry about fire..but the saying goes "crash & burn"..lol Bikes are dangerous anyways..so fuck it.
If your doing a hybrid...then dont even consider this..just use a fueltank for the chassis you choose ; save yourself $1000.00-$1500.00 cost of restoring or buying & painting a RZ tank.

Re: Gas tanks
If you have an RZ fuel tank that leaks, how about cutting out the whole bottom of the tank, so it's just a shell. Make some brackets and mount a fuel cell under the shell?
