Which Bars?

#1 Post by Disco » Fri Mar 17, 2017 3:38 pm

On my 85 rz with the Spec II full fairing, I'm not thrilled with the stock bars. I feel my hands are a bit too high and it's difficult to get in a good position on corners. Part of this could very well be the Corbin solo seat that I sit "in" vs. a stock seat which I sit "on".
At any rate I'm thinking about a future bar switch. Not sure if clip-ons are what I want(?). I like the styling but is tank/fairing clearance going to be an issue? What about some sort of drag bars or something with a bit lower bend in them? Any recommendations and/or photo examples?

Thanks,
Disco

Something like these tracker bars? http://www.jpcycles.com/product/126-787" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or "superbike" bars? http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/36 ... ?colorid=9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thoughts? Would either of these not work or be better than the other?

After some image searching I might have found what seems to be what I'm looking for? Different bike but the seating stance, shifting just a tad lower and forward seems about right. Tank/fairing clearance issues?
