Nice job on the bike! Any more pics? I hope to have my 85 back on the road next year. Here is a picture of what it looked like when I pulled it out of my shed. It has 4200 original kms on it.

Wow bud, that thing is sweet. I could use those photos for reference. 42 hundred clicks thats crazy. You're sitting on a real gem there. Are you the first owner?

I'm still working on mine and will up date this thread soon. I put the engine back in with hope to ride it for the summer but the tank needed to much attention. So.... 3 months later just finishing the tank resto.
At any rate the engine is coming back out for more work over the down season.

Welcome ,Thanks for signing up and sharing your photos. Wish you were closer, because I'd love to see that in the flesh.
What do you need to do to get it streetable again? Not many 350rn's out there.

Thanks! I bought the bike brand new in '87, it was sitting in a crate at the Yamaha dealership. It was $1500 less than a new '87. When I got it was was very surprised because I thought it was going to be a bikini faring bike.

The bike doesn't need much. In the pictures it is more dusty then anything else. I have a brand new tank for it and I'm waiting for a buddy to finish painting my top faring and bottom fairing. I have some really mint side ones, not in the picture. I pulled the carbs off and cleaned them out. The front shocks have new seals and the front brake calipers were rebuilt. Seeing your pics is really inspiring me to get this thing together. I have an '86 and this 85 is way faster. On a good day it will do a shade over 130mph and on a hot humid day around 124-126mph.
Here is an old picture of it in action!

Very cool, seeing yours intact inspires me to save this one.
That fairing is mind bending when it goes straight up like that, great photo. You need to post that up on members rides, thats legendary.
With only 42 hundred on it I'd probably be to worried to do it today. Mine is a total backslider I've rescued, but I hope to find a mint one after this project.
I'll have to ask you some questions some time about what it was like straight out of the box. Do you know wa s the solo cowl for this year the, 1AG , ever sold in Canada or just in Europe?

I just checked it actually has 4175 km on it. I absolutely love the paint scheme on these 350's, it is my favorite. Next is the 86 RZ paint. I love the red and white but the '85 is my favorite!

resurrecting an old thread am sure but I do have a neglected 85 red frame full fairing that I am building from frame up to mine will not have fairing as those are way to hard to find and pricey
I am working on a limited budget I scrounge part everywhere I can a buddy of mine actually will help me with the parts to finish it ie I need a heart and electronics
Going street fighter/café depending on what I already have and the price of stuff it's a custom to say the least
My thread is on this site
BTW any more picture of final product?

Cheers

This is what It looks like today. I’ve got lots of photos, and should probably load them on here as I didn’t use photobucket so most of my pics stuck around.

I managed to get collectors plates for it. It now has a solo cowl, expansion chambers, ohlins shock etc. I’ll watch your progress and throw in my two bits if applicable. I’m self taught by doing everything 3 times. That being said i usually refrain from giving mechanical advice. There is lots of great advice on this forum, but there is also some purple Koolaide flowing as well.
I can only pass on what worked for me. We’re both at sea level and we both have 85 Canadians so we are living the same dream. I have some parts so pm me if you are looking for anything specific.
Thanks for your interest, welcome to the club.
