Thinking about it I might find a glass cabinet for my garage (there is a council clear up this weekend so you never know what people might put out LOL - last year a mate her found a whole LC! but I digress..) and display some grails for my visitors... I think this wheel will go in there with an LC tool tray, 350cyls, 4L0-01 carbs and '0' stamped pipes.... and maybe a LC Gully seat... for the F1 I could put in the plastic loom plates, F1 wiring loom, top fairing and the 'dashboard top panel', N1 dash and bracket, an OEM single seat conversion and a '57V' screen if i ever find one LOL!

I could probably charge a '$1 a look' and maybe fund some new pieces for the 'Grail Museum' LOL!

Another Canuck still with you...
Interesting that Yamaha would use a different wheel for the 250. Was it the same for all years or just 1980?

Same for all years of the LC; totally different setup for the sprocket, friction fit silentbloc bushes into the wheel rim vs removable cush rubbers and seperate sprocket carrier with bearing.

OK... My fingers are officially raw and im over polishing, but the good news is that the 350 wheel is now done... just needs a little tidy up on the cush drum edge, which i missed before taking this pic, ooops.

So, remember this...

well that now looks like this:

and not forgetting the extra bit of the 350 wheel, the cush drive.

What is interesting to see is the wear in the cush drum on the wheel, this is from the rubber rubbing on the alloy, not helped as there was some dust and oil / grease in this chamber, hmm... Im thinking someone oiled it at some point, maybe to stop it squeaking! LOL

Just new cush rubbers, bearings and seals / o ring and this is done :)

Those cleaned up a lot nicer than it looked like they would.
