You're welcome. I did the reverse swap, years ago. I installed power jet carbs off an F2 onto my LC and had to swap out the petcock too.

I'm hoping that by next weekend I will be able to do the initial start-up.
Just finished putting fresh oil in the gearbox and I'm putting the radiator on tonight.
It's getting very exciting around here. :smt026 :smt026

So, after adding the antifreeze I found one small leak. It only took two hours to fix.
I'll make a temporary fuel tank this weekend and get her ready for start-up.

2-22-2018 The 1983 RZ350 Came To Life

A big "Thank You" to the RZ Forum for all your help with this project.
Without your help along the way this would have taken much longer.

Now that it's a "Runner" I need to check a few other items off the mechanical.
Then get to painting and setting the graphics.

More pictures and video to follow.

Below is a link to the video of the initial start-up.
Very excited to get this to a running bike.
Still so very many things to do but at least I know that everything done thus far has been a success.

Very nice build there!!!

Funny video. "Vintage" Good job.

Where is the fuel coming from in the video? I did not see an aux fuel tank.

Vintage bikes run on dreams, not fuel, Ken. You just need enthusiasm, don't you know?!

Enjoyed the video, Boyd.

Most dudes would just fire up the bike.

Stripping down to Yamaha colors and your display of bravado make it a great video.

Well done, homie! :smt023

I built an aux tank from a 32oz. water bottle. Works great.
My daughter and I are doing a total rebuild of her 1980 BMW R65 and I plan on using that same aux tank with that bike too.

I just installed the freshly rebuilt oil injection pump (Thanks To Arrow).
It was ultra easy to follow his instructions on pre and post installation as well as priming the pump and oil lines.

There was a few items that I needed to take care of after the initial start-up.
*Sent the oil pump to Arrow for rebuild.
*Moved the pipe on the kick start side to keep it from vibrating against the center stand.
*Purchased new oil lines.
*Drained the transmission oil after the first start-up.
*Match the carb slide at full Open and Close.

After this start up and it was warmed up, I adjusted the idle.
Then... I heard an awful noise coming from the flywheel case.
Turns out, the nut holding the flywheel was loose. [smilie=dry3.gif]
I thought I secured it before. Guess not. But it's TIGHT now.

Anyway... after doing all that, It's SOOO EASY to start.

Now it's ready for all the paint and plastics.

She knows me so well. And, We've been together from high school while I was racing and riding bikes.
During the time we've been together (45+ years) there was a four year span where I didn't have a bike.
Worst four years of my life. :smt003
