Didn't have my phone so it will have to be next time. Will get some up this weekend. I was planning on going for the Marly colors but I don't think the belly comes back far enough for the distinctive finishing of the stripe. Will work it out though

Frame and wheels powder coated. Re-assembly will begin shortly.

Still need to sort out the lack of spark. I think I would be wise to test the wires in the harness before putting it back on to see if I have a broken wire in the middle of the harness.

Anyone know of a close paint match to the orange-red that is used on the GP bikes? Ie. YSR500 or Factory Ducati? If I could find a pain swatch it would be uber helpful.

Yes, it is all from the later generation bikes. I have spares of most parts, CDI, coils, relays etc. Stator was tested and checks out but I am starting to lean more that direction. The CDI is definitely good as I bought one from a running bike.

Pulling the fairing back has caused all sorts of fitment issues. Bars have only one point they fit and no room to run a speedo. Anyone doing this I would not recommend pulling the airtech back this far.

Rory,

have you had a chance to get started on your projects?

No, still trying to survive. Too much on my plate. With the warmer weather approaching I should be getting ready to get on some stuff soon.

Well I continue to hack and slash at the fairing. Paint is done. Tank and tail are on. Final touch ups to belly and mount headlight in upper and it's almost complete.

Is there any room to lift up the nose? Pivoting it up around the rear mount will give you a little more room for pipes...

I think that if I did it again I would likely move the nose up a bit but in order to get the correct lines with the frame it pretty much HAS to sit around here. Its up and running, jetting is a bit off but close. Running 32mm round slides with 200 mains right now (3000ish ft elevation). Everything is tight tight tight. WIll need to cut out a bit more fairing as the kickstart still hits at bottom of travel. Windshield yet to go on but will fit.

Brakes are amazing, still kind of wooden but by far the best RZ stockers I have felt. Zero mush and bight hard. Seating position is aggressive to say the least and suspension is nice and stiff. Its pretty darn for a normal RZ and slightly more reminiscent of a modern bike. This is all on a stock swingarm and forks. It moves pretty darn good and is definitely light.

Better pictures to come in the light once final finishing is done...
