Perfect, looks nice and that solution for the damper support is the best option imo.
I did the same years ago on my Lc 421, I originally got the idea from a bike built buy Nick Fubar

Thanks for that..
I think i have seen pics of that bike you mention. I`d wish i had seen that before i made mine, as that one has an advantage over mine. As i bolt the steering damper on top of the steel-plate, i do need a small spacer where i mount the steering damper to the fork. I made alot of drawings before i went for this:

Yes Nicks damper fitting was great, I want to do this same design on my 83 project.

Nice drawing too. you can see a lot of thought went into that plate. 6mm mild steel I guess?

Please do let us know how you go with the setup Tommy, if it works out well and its cool with you, I will probably do the exact same setup on mine, tho im using RGV forks of course, but the design and the plate you designed would be similar of course, perhaps a cross between yours and niks. :)

This is niks:

Sure will do Jon. I had every bracket of my bike laser cut in UK by a company called Lasermaster. All of my drawings are there in their archive and would not cost much to cut out if anyone would like a similar bracket. Just now i feel things go a bit slow especially waiting for parts of ebay. Radiator hoses used 14 days from UK to Norway. That is too slow..

Nice. that sounds like a great business to deal with, cheap as chips too as you say.

haha, imagine living half way round the world, most things take double that time to get here... plenty of time for you to change your mind and go a different way! :/

It looks too high at the back in the pics, but lots of bikes built with this kind of tail seem to do that when photographed, whats it like in real life?

I am very aware of what you say Jon. I think that the angle of the tail is one of the most critical things to get right on a hybrid. I have often seen bikes with to high a tail and i am really trying to avoid that. I have been looking at A LOT of bikes, both stock and modified. The rule of the good ones seem to be that the upper line of the fuel tank should be continued on the tail. As the straight edge seen in the picture, the tank line continues onto the rear seat. As you say some bikes look like they are too high on pictures, but are more correct in real..I think mine is...i hope..)

If looking at the stock gsxr, it to has some distance from the wheel and up. Another thing that will make it look more full under the tail is the licence plate with bracket..

I was thinking the same thing but didnt want to say anything as that sort of thing is quite a personal thing. As you say a lot of modern sports bikes have the same look about them.

If it was mine, and I know its not, I would give it a try with the tail down lower so it followed the angle of the rear of the tank. That is no criticism of what you have done, its all about personal choice that makes each one an individual bike as the owners are.

Hows that for being diplomatic. :smt006

The tank looks good. The top of the tank has a much better angle than the RZ350 tank.

I like the tail that high - more like a modern bike.

I do think the tail is a little too long, though. Probably just me - I like shorter tails. :smt003

Radiator looks good, too.
