Nice project. Whats your idea on final paint ? Should look awesome with a factory paintjob, as it would look all original...but yet SOooo different upon closer inspection.

This is the paint scheme it came with. I am going to replicate it and bring the stripe pattern down throughout the FZR400 fairing. The wheels and fork lowers were painted back in 2001 a silver with a hint of blue PPG single stage urethane.

You need to buy a TIG welder and learn how to use it, you clearly have ample talent and are certainly capable of doing it. Nice build, looking forward to seeing it come together.

Well, i am pretty good with a soldering iron. I could probably pick up tig pretty quick.

Kinda out of order, but this was the repair I did on the fairing prior to mocking up for the fairing braces. The piece on the right was totally broken off from the fairing. I ground the broken pieces 1/16 inch with a dremel tool and filled front and back with epoxy and fiberglass cloth, then ground flat. I found a great use for my bicycle stand. :smt023

Please do the same to mine!!! <Pushes rz frame towards mixalive>
Very nice work! Wish I had the time to do half that work with even just a 1/4 of the workmanship. :D

Looking forward to seeing more!

I thought I would post my mounted Airtech solo cowl. I mounted my AirTech RZ Solo Cowl to the seat, not the frame. This way it is removed at the same time the seat is removed. This would work good for the oil injection folks needing access to the oil tank.

Wow, nice robust solution without punching holes in the seat.

Yea. I left the seat and the factory cowl mounts on the frame intact so if I want, I can mount the factory cowl and use the full seat. I will probably delete the hand rail though.

Very cool. I like that. Amazing what u can do with a plan, time, and determination. From another Rz fan in volente tx. Ps I'm good at standing around and drinking a few beers while u work. At least there would be a real nice stocker outside your shop while I'm there lol
