I would be happy with the RZ frame. Nice work there. :smt023

But your new conversion sounds very unique. Please stick with it. Watching with interest. :smt045

Just doing some mock ups in photoshop it looks like I can stack 2 350 engines on one another and still have clearance under the tank.
So a bit of head scratching until the frame shows up.

If I don't like it I will get back to working with the stock frame.
I don't ride like I used to but I really want a sturdy frame without having to reinforce in 10 different places.
With that said I do prefer the old frame. Guess I'll have to do some late night thinking.. Buy another RZ?

I hope to reinforce the frame like mixalive has done with his RZ. Nice work! http://www.rzrd500.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13572" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

After thinking about it for the night I'm going to stick with the original RZ frame.
I really like the old style spindly steel tube frame. With proper reinforcement it will be fine for my riding.

Now to get that frame jig together...

I'm glad Jim Lomas is using this pic of my bike because I don't have it anymore.
This was when I just got it together before refinishing parts.

FZ600 swingarm, GS500 rear wheel, GSXR750 forks, wheel brakes, levers etc. Lomas mild steel pipes. I sold those pipes and bought another set later on in stainless with cf cans.
Single 35mm PWK, R1 gauge cluster, I believe that was an F4i shock. Giant curved radiator that I never got to fit right.

Deep in the dark recesses of a cold upstate NY basement.. Among 99 year old steam car parts and a mystical Vincent Black Shadow lies the pieces to a mechanical dream of mine.

It was great. Combined with the micron pipes I had before those Lomas there was a ton of bottom end.
If I recall correctly the single sided microns peaked at 11,000 rpm, so it could have more to do with the pipes but the amount of midrange was noticeable even when compared to the stock carbs.
I remember laughing when pulling away from a light.

Frame came yesterday. Smaller than I expected. Going to look into how the 350 engine fits but more than likely will continue with the stock rz frame.
Going to bring the engine home this weekend to see how it fits.
Will get the frame jig sorted this week during lunch breaks.

Considering it's cold out I'll probably sort out the stock frame at work and do the SV frame fitting at home.

Picked up some parts this weekend.
Was glad everything is in good shape except for the engine. Layer of something oily and impregnated with dirt. It will clean up.

Early beginnings of frame jig. Have to come up with some right angle plates to square up the swing arm pivot points and a way to adjust the width of both plates and a way to keep the head tube squared and at the correct angle.
