Okay, back on track.

Need to get this welded to the frame, so I can measure for the aluminum bracket.

Can't stop testing my limits.

Hopefully, I can stay on track with the bikes. :smt003

Made a one-off titanium grommet retainer for the 2nd battery box bracket.

All electrical components on this bike are rubber-mounted.

Was just thinking that I haven't seen rubber-mounted components on any of the custom bikes I've viewed. Maybe, I'm going overboard (?). I know on the OEM RZ350, everything is rubber-mounted.

Machined bracket for the battery box is done.

Fits rightly, but the rubber grommet is too close to the welding area.

Will need to machine a custom aluminum piece to hold the bracket during welding. Could't find the right junk to rig it properly.

Scribe a line around the bracket for alignment and then just clamp it in position for welding using your scribed lines.
Accurate enough especially using grommets which have a little leeway anyway.
I rubber mount most things.
It's extra work but worth it I reckon.

Not sure if the bracket sits perfectly flush against the box.

Also not sure if I can find a clamp that will hold the bracket flush to the box without moving. The flange is tiny.

I'll take another look. Thanks.

Machined up a spacer to hold the batery box bracket during welding.

Done. Just need to match drill holes for the cross bar.

Any guesses as to what these machined parts are for?

Hint: they're mild steel. :smt003
