New spring clip drawings are at the machine shop.

Local machine shop doesn't have CNC machines, and each spring clip requires a fair amount of machining. Need 8 stainless clips. 4 with the header radius & 4 with the stinger radius. If it works, I'll probably need 24 more made out if titanium for other pipes. Not looking forward to seeing the bill.

Maybe I could get a better price from a CNC shop, but I don't have CAD drawings.

May have found someone good to help with the fuel tank. He sent me a quick pic of his stainless and aluminum welding.

As soon as the bike comes back from SF, I'll get on the radiator and fuel tank design.

Jeff's building race engines for Phillip Island this week and gone over the weekend. Should have some more pipe progress next week.

Beautiful. Your welder knows what he's doing.
Cheers!

Local machinist finally decided he didn't want to cut the spring clips.

Will try to get a CAD drawing, and find someone else to machine the parts.

Sent my drawings to a buddy in Salinas, who wants to try to CAD the clips.

Latest pipe talk is about moving up from 1 inch tubing on the stingers, to 1.25 inch tubing.

Also may be using interchangeable nozzles in the stinger connections, for better tuning.

CAD drawings for the stainless header and stinger spring hooks are done.
Drawings modified by a friend in Norway.
Hope the spring hooks are strong enough. I tried to make them small & light.
Will look for a machinist that can cut them.
Photos soon.

Adne touched up the spring hook CAD drawing and raised the floor of the cutout 1.5mm. Now, the spring is at least 2.5mm away from the pipe.

Fixed:

The machinist can't cut the radius inside the triangle cutout, unless I buy a small endmill. Not expensive, I just don't want more to do. Will go with a .030" radius, instead of .020". Hope it works out.

The billet spring hooks are small, but the production is large!

Me -> Erik -> Adne -> Mason -> Jeff

Thanks, Jon.

I went for function over form. I like up-pipes, too. :smt003

I might not want to ride it due to the heat from up-pipes.
The heat from downpipes can be uncomfortable.

I could ride all day with the pipes scraping on the ground.
