Got the exhaust tips welded.

Ready for pipes.

The exhaust tip tubing was slightly larger. Was harder to weld that bead because of a small gap.

Exhaust tips and mufflers are fitting well.

Removed it as a unit. Solid as a rock.

Got the info. Will be delivering the bike soon for pipes by Jeff Henise.

Hope it works out. Still worried about ground clearance with down-pipes, and don't want the heat from up-pipes. No good answer.

Price is what you'd expect, if you saw Jeff's resume (link previously posted). Last project I saw him build was that world record setting land speed bike, a few months ago.

Latest decision for pipes is stainless with full polish. Stingers will be full polish stainless, with gold titanium nitride coating. Annealed titanium pipes would be too colorful with this engine, and the rotor side engine cover is full polish aluminum.

About 6 months ago, I gave the machine shop info to make threaded connectors for the pipe stingers.

Guess they're not gonna do it. I've asked a few times, and they always say they will.

Stayed up all night and drew some nice slip-joint connectors. The spring eyes are machined, instead of welded on, and they use an o-ring. Need to have springs before I can finish the drawings. Will try to order Akrapovic springs today.

Could also machine up some similar pieces to use on the header pipes.

Should have this done already. Want to deliver the bike soon.

Cheap, too.

Too bad they don't list the size of the spring. Very strange.

Will be using 60mm springs (with vibration dampers). :smt023

Redesigned the pipe layout.

Got rid of the crossover pipes. Chose symmetry over the novelty and slight performance advantage of crossover pipes.

Had to shorten up the pipes, crossover of not.

Still needs some adjustment.

Drove from L.A. to Frisco and back, yesterday. [Brutal!!]

The SXZ is now at Jeff Henise's shop. With the current Land Speed Record bike. :smt003

Jeff is definitely one of the most interesting motorcycle dudes I've ever met.

When I get a minute, I'll post some of the amazing stuff I saw.

Trying to measure exhaust port duration. Prefer not to remove the head to check the deck height.

Made a quick degree wheel. Flashlight through the plug hole; looking through the exhaust port.
