Low Budget Purple Project

Re: Low Budget Purple Project
A few weeks ago, when I was polishing the paint, I discovered that it also has a fine Green metallic flake in it. Ooops.
It’s hard to see in the pictures because my camera is average, and my photography skills are poor.

Love it Steve, looks great. Black and chrome, can't go wrong.
Re: Low Budget Purple Project
Hey Reg, Ken, thanks for the kind words.
Thanks Evan.
I had to laugh when I read your comment. It almost seemed like you didn't finish the sentance.
It's a nice collection of parts, BUT........It's not what I'd have done with them.
That's cool. It would be pretty boring if we all did the same thing.
Thanks Evan.

Re: Low Budget Purple Project
The new engine has a bore of 64.5 mm and a stroke of 58 mm, which gives it a displacement of 380 cc.
Ported cylinders, custom pipes, squish is 0.9 mm, compression is supposed to be around 150 psi. (I’ll know the exact numbers after I measure it).
Stock carbs with 430 MJ, 25 PJ, needle on the 4th clip with a washer under the clip, air screws at 1.25 turns out.
Power Valves programmed to be fully closed until 6000 rpm and be fully open at 9300 rpm.
Ignition Curve is retarded 2* from stock.
15* at 2000 rpm
25* at 3500 rpm
15* at 9000 rpm
7* at 9900 rpm
Rev limiter set at 7500 rpm.
(I have no self control, so a low rev limit was the only way to ensure that I wouldn’t wind out the new motor to 10K before I put 20 miles on it).
Since this motor has more compression and more HP than the old motor, it’s probably going to make more heat, so I started with a set of colder plugs in it.
BR9ES instead of the stock BR8ES plugs.
