Slingers new un
Started this over the crimbo break.
Thought as I was building the stroker motor it should go into a new chassis .
It's a 4LD frame which is a 125 frame (got it of Vin for a head I modded for him) but the engine fits so sweet unlike the 4HW bike I built a couple of years back. The engine is 6" further back than the old one. Cut out the old rear engine mounts and weld some new ones in, made a cradle and weld some mounting points and your good to go.
The swinging arm is from a 3XV and with some small mods fitted in there a treat.
I've used the suspension from my other bike and just had to make rear shock mounting point and bottom linkage arms.
Using my old fairing just going to give it a new colour scheme.
It's almost there just the engine to build and a few odds and sods then one the dyno.
Mocked it up before stripping the frame a polishing it.
Got to change the rear spring now that the linkage ration has changed using the old wiring loom all of ten wires so quite a quick and simple build.

Looks good Glyn, thought you were being quiet about your new build :)
Whats the spec of the new motor, what barrels and crank are you going to be using. I see you got the new tig working well, how easy is ally welding, is it just the same as using the old tig?
Just a quick one, I thought all the newer/inport TZR125 frames were the same, what models are they all from. TZR rr, TZR Begarda. etc etc.
When are you leaving us for the hop over the pond, are you taking your lathe with you or buying a new one when you get there ;)

Spec of the motor is only a +4mm stroke with OEM barrels but not using a spacer plate, some porting secret but I feel it's all in the pipes for these motors.rdstars wrote:Looks good Glyn, thought you were being quiet about your new build :)

Ali is a harder IMO starting to get the hang of if but if your going to do a lot of it you really need a welder with a foot peddle to get the weld pool going.
Can't answer about he frames.
Yes mate all my kit is going out with me,out there by August at the latest that's why this is a bit of a rush to get done.
Done a little researce, not sure if anyone is interested but just incase for parts referance.
TZR125 / 4DL made by Belgarda Italia shares parts with the TZR250 3MA reverse cylinder and its fuel tank is in plastic not metal.
TZR125 / 4FL made in Japan shares parts with the TZR250 3XV v twin.
Glyn with the motor 6" back im gessing this should help with the ballance and handling of the bike, also should have alot more room for your pipes at the manifold.

And yes the zorsts where a bitch to make on that other bike made two for this already .
Slinger you are not going to be happy when you get here and realize that you just can't get the cool little bikes like that here. However toss some signals on that bad boy and it's a home built, road ready...
