Just read this nice project.
Re you reed sealing issue, recently on a build I had an issue with sealing the reeds, when I soon realised that I had inadvertently swapped out the bolts with new Allen head bolts that were a fraction to long and bottoming out before they were doing the job of compressing the gasket face on the reed block? Might be worth checking.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I should be able to get back to working on this bike soon.

Hey Pete, when are you going to replace the junkie rear sets on that yellow/black? :smt044

I do like your parking place for the bike. :smt023

If I get any more they will have to move into the house. Maybe I will get my better half an apartment to live in :smt047

Oh wait, I will have to change those plans because I will go hungry :smt042 Put another building in the backyard perhaps???

Ken, my rearsets are on the way right now from T12 :smt023

Hell, if we gotta deal with towels with flowers on them, a zillion scented candles, and "experimental recipe" dinners....

(now, if I can only swap out the French door in the bedroom to an overhead...)

After about four months I got these 2 radiators back from the welder dude at work. Test fit the one for this bike and it fits perfect now. Have not test fit the other one on to the TZRRZ350. I am now cutting the blue silicone hoses to get them to fit properly. Need to order no cut hose clamps from McMaster Carr.

The JL side by side pipes on this bike may come off in place of JL GP pipes. Hmmm, I thought I had pics of this bike with pipes mounted. I'll have to take more.

After. There is a big, big difference in the location of the pin.

Nice fix on the radiators.

I've got one that needs the same thing. :smt012

Blue hoses all cut and fitted.

This was posted in the rear set thread but I will post here for reference.

I used these ebay rod ends. Be forewarned they are China parts so you may die if use them.

4pcs 6mm Female Rod End 2 Right and 2 Left Hand Metric Threaded Joint Bearing

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271036141242?ru ... 26_rdc%3D1

Ordered these rods

FAST FROM THE PAST
205MM AND 225MM
M/F connecting rods

Currently have the 205mm installed. The longer one would be used if I adjust the rear sets back further.

Shifter knuckle is 2003 R6.

Also note the pressure switch at the banjo fitting.

A bunch of McMaster Carr stuff arrived yesterday including the no-cut clamps for the silicone hoses. But I fucked up on the size so the correct ones are on the way.

The Venhill brake lines arrived yesterday.

But I fucked up on the banjo bolts and ordered fine thread, which the new brembo is and I don't need because I have a fine pitch pressure/banjo there, instead of coarse thread which is needed every where else. I have emailed the rep and will trade for the correct ones.

2 for 2 on these orders. Fucking idiot. :smt013

BTW, this is the second time I screwed up on a McMaster Carr order, called them to see about returning the parts, they credit my account for the incorrect parts and tell me to keep them, then they send me the correct parts I need. Very good company :smt023

A small update.

The front master cylinder had a good feel to it, but since the bike has a brand new rear MC, I decided to rebuild it. After taking it apart, I am sure it would have worked fine before the rebuild. There was a little bit of crud in there so better off I am sure.

Rebuilt front master cylinder with Yamaha rebuild kit for FZR600 36Y-W0041-00

Brake lines front and rear are now installed.

All the hose are now installed and clamped with proper clamps.

I would put a washer on the bolt to stop the rod ends falling off in case of a failure.

Do you mean put something like a fender washer underneath the screw head to prevent the rod and from sliding all the way out (in the event it becomes 2 pieces rather than 1)? :smt017

Thank you for the compliments.

The shifter part did not come with the rear sets.

It came off of a 2005 R6 that I happened to have left over from a track bike part out.
